Rapallo, the pearl of the Tigullio

Within a bay embraced by hills, interwined between sky and sea, the city of Rapallo emerges thanks to its colours and the majestic harbour that frames it. Always linked to the sea that laps it, Rapallo stretches along the coast from Portofino to Sestri Levante.

A city rich in history, which saw great development in the 19th century thanks to the new railway that allowed it to connect with Genoa and the rest of Italy. The town has thus become a true tourist destination that elegantly interprets the refined essence of the villages of the Ligurian Riviera.

A privileged entrance to the marvellous Ligurian Riviera

Rapallo is also known as 'the pearl of the Tigullio'. It is located in the centre of the namesake Gulf, an area of astounding natural charm, where celebrities, royals and prominent personalities from all over the world come to live an experience of beauty and Italian Dolce Vita.

Like a pearl in its shell, Rapallo's central position with respect to the Tigullio is also particularly strategic for reaching the nearby towns of Portofino and Santa Margherita Ligure, San Fruttuoso and Sestri Levante.

It is not only the sea, however, that makes this corner of the Riviera special: the hills and the Monte di Portofino surrounding Rapallo offer the perfect backdrop for venturing into nature, exploring paths that lead up to the ridge - such as the walks in the Camogli, San Rocco and Punta Chiappa areas - and open up to extraordinary views.
